Tucson, AZ – Yesterday, when asked his stance on the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, congressional candidate Juan Ciscomani gave a full throated endorsement of dismantling the law of the land. Ciscomani’s positon comes at a dangerous time as the Arizona Republican majority recently passed an abortion ban without exceptions for rape or incest. Read below for Ciscomai’s support for outlawing abortion in Arizona.
[CALLER]: Uh, hey there Juan, I’m a constituent in your district. I have heard a lot of news about overturning Roe v. Wade. I was just wondering where you stand on those issues.
[CISCOMANI]: Well I’m strongly pro-life. I’ve mentioned this many times before that you know I’m proudly pro-life and I’ve actually – I’m actually living it. I talk about this with six kids and uh, I definitely want to support pro-life policies, uh policies that support women, that support children, that support families in the adoptive system and foster care system as well and I definitely want to be, um, promoting these kind of policies on the pro-life issue.
Daniel Hernandez disavowed Ciscomani’s comments saying, “Women deserve complete bodily autonomy, full stop. Republicans’ extreme ideology is out of touch with everyday Arizonans. As a former Planned Parenthood staffer, I advocated for access to sexual and reproductive health care and education. And in the state legislature I have spent the last six years fighting to protect the right to choose. With the recent abortion ban, without exceptions for rape or incest, going into effect soon this Supreme Court decision could not come at a more dangerous time for Arizona.”
