Climate change affects every aspect of our lives, from the economy to social justice to public health. We are already experiencing the effects of climate change, with Southern Arizona’s main source of water becoming increasingly threatened each year. In Congress, I will fight for investments in renewable energy and in water conservation technology to help combat this crisis while creating good paying, local jobs. We must reduce our dependence on foreign oil in order to decrease energy costs here at home. We need leaders willing to boldly address the climate crisis and to fight back against the status quo. The results we’ve already achieved at the state level and in cities like Tucson with solar energy illustrate that an economy that is more resilient to climate change can also be one that creates better-paying jobs and sets up Arizona for decades of high-tech economic growth.
